Our Top Summer Cocktail Trends
Summer Drink Trend #1: Reimagined Classics
Summer 2023 is about the reinvention of our favorite cocktails. Mixologists tinker with and tweak classic cocktail recipes to create new classics like the Enzoni, a Negroni and Gin Sour hybrid. Although the Enzoni was first created in the early 2000s, it’s having a moment now with the Negroni’s spike in popularity in 2022.
Enzoni
- 1 oz Coppercraft Gin
- 1 oz Campari
- .75 oz lemon Juice
- .5 oz simple syrup
- White grapes, garnish
Muddle grapes in your cocktail shaker. Add remaining ingredients. Shake with ice and strain over fresh ice into a double Old Fashioned glass. Garnish with skewered grapes.
Summer Drink Trend #2: Pink Barbie Cocktails
Barbie is the most popular girl of the summer thanks to an astronomical movie marketing budget and a brand that can be distilled into the simplicity of one familiar hue. Pink is the color of the summer and any Barbie cocktail.
Let’s Go Barbie
- 1 oz Thatcher’s Organic Hibiscus Liqueur
- 1 oz Campari
- 1 oz Coppercraft Vodka
- 3 oz lemonade
- Club soda, to top
- Ice
Combine Thatcher’s Organic Hibiscus Liqueur, Campari, and vodka in a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds to chill ingredients. Add lemonade and shake again. Strain the mixture into a highball glass filled with fresh ice cubes. Top with club soda, leaving room at the top for fizz.

Summer Drink Trend #3: Slushy Cocktails
From Frosé to Frozen Negronis, it’s no surprise that a cocktail trend of one of the hottest summers in history involves turning your favorite drink into a slushy. Southern Magazine called the Bourbon Slush the most searched cocktail of the summer and – with this heat – we believe it.
Bourbon Slush
- 48 oz hot brewed tea
- 8 oz granulated sugar
- 1 (12 oz) can frozen lemonade concentrate
- 6 oz frozen orange juice concentrate
- 16 oz Coppercraft Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Combine hot tea and sugar in a heatproof bowl and stir until the sugar dissolves. Add the lemonade concentrate and orange juice concentrate and stir until blended. Let stand until cool, about 1 hour. Stir in the Coppercraft Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Pour the bourbon mixture into a large freezer-safe container, and freeze until almost firm, about 8 hours or overnight. Let stand at room temperature until partially thawed, about 1 hour. Spoon into glasses, and serve immediately.
