The last few centuries have birthed many a dynamic duo. From Pocahontas & John Smith to Bonnie & Clyde, down to Snoop Dogg & Tupac Shakur, and finally Kim & Kanye, practical partnerships seem to be a staple of our society. As long as both sides can benefit from the arrangement, the game is on!
While the relationships above deserve honorable mentions, in truth there can only be one marriage that merits the title “most iconic.” We are, of course, talking about the Classic Gin & Tonic. Said to have been invented by British soldiers while stationed in India, it’s difficult to find a European country that doesn’t have their own unique version of the drink that Winston Churchill claimed “has saved more Englishmen’s lives, and minds, than all of the doctors in the empire.”
About the Drink
Our gin is classified as a “wet” gin rather than a “dry” one due to the fact that it has far less juniper berry, as well as a wide spectrum of other botanicals, in its recipe. Thus our blend avoids the overbearing pine-taste from the juniper berry that’s found in most dry gins, and opens up the palate to all sorts of new notes such as citrus and lavender, just to name a couple.
This means Coppercraft gin is perfect for a Spanish-style gin & tonic. Generally made with wet gin, traditional tonic syrup, soda water, and a garnish of whatever fruit peels or berries fit your fancy, this elixir is sure to please.
Classic Gin & Tonic:
2 oz Coppercraft Gin
.75 oz Jack Rudy tonic syrup
Pour into rocks glass, add ice, top with soda water. Peel fruits, express oils over glass, place peels into glass and stir all contents.
