NFL quarterbacks are known as gunslingers, air raiders, and field marshalls, and they’re charged with leading their teams to championships. The cocktails below are crafted in tribute to the game’s greatest NFL quarterbacks and lead to a great-tasting good time.
The NFL Quarterback: Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers is one of the most talented quarterbacks to ever play the game. He’s a modern legend who manages to manufacture a scoring drive no matter how little time is on the click. This recipe, The Lambeau, is an original Coppercraft cocktail recipe that has a smoky taste supported by Rodgers’ favorite spirit, scotch. It’s a great cocktail choice for any last minute cocktail decisions.
The Lambeau
2 oz Coppercraft Straight Bourbon Whiskey
1 ounce Drambuie
Lemon peel, garnish
Add bourbon and Drambuie into a mixing glass with ice and stir until well-chilled. Strain into a rocks glass with ice. Garnish with a lemon peel.
The NFL Quarterback: Bart Starr
Bart Starr led the Green Bay Packers to the franchise’s first two Super Bowls, securing his place in history as the first quarterback to win multiple championship rings. His style was subtle, but he completed more than 55 percent of his passes throughout his career. The Smoke Show Old Fashioned, a cocktail developed in Wisconsin, pays tribute to this under the radar QB and the calculated offense he led 60+ years ago.
The NFL Quarterback: Joe Montana
Joe Montana was a Notre Dame legend and a 49er Champion. He was well-known for taking big risks and overcoming big deficits, leading 31 comeback wins during his NFL career. Montana was nicknamed “Joe Cool” as a result, but he was also one of the first quarterbacks to be referred to as a “gunslinger” thanks to his somewhat reckless high-risk, high-reward mentality. The Revolver is bold in that same fashion. Try the recipe below.
The NFL Quarterback: John Elway
John Elway led the Denver Broncos to NFL dominance early on in his career with his iconic signal-calling. He entered the league with big expectations and did not disappoint with his big results. The famed QB brought the Broncos to the Super Bowl in his fourth season and took home two championships throughout his career. He is synonymous with Broncos Orange and the Orange Vodka Martini is a fitting tribute.
The NFL Quarterback: Dan Marino
Dan Marino established a new standard of statistical dominance in the quarterbacking category during his time with the Miami Dolphins. The quarterback put up ridiculous numbers from career start to finish, throwing for more than 4,000 yards six different times throughout his career. This kind of production hadn’t existed before Marino took the field. For the Record is a cocktail for a record-breaker and its floral feel pairs well with white sandy beaches.
The NFL Quarterback: Tom Brady
Tom Brady is already the greatest quarterback to ever play the game. He’s a former Wolverine who’s dominating into his forties and, like Coppercraft spirits, only seems to get better with age. Vanilla Bourbon is a smooth, unsuspecting cocktail that’s delightfully delicious. There’s more to it than you’d think. Just like Brady.
